Day Courses

Day Courses are open to everyone. Each class includes guided meditation, a talk, and questions and answers. A light vegetarian lunch is included and no pre-registration is required unless otherwise stated. The cost for day courses is $30.00.

Shifting the Winds of our Karma

Karma is a Sanskrit word meaning ‘action’. Buddha taught that happiness arises as a result of our virtuous (or positive) actions, whereas suffering arises from non-virtuous (or harmful) actions. In this and previous lives, while under the influence of delusions, we have all engaged in countless harmful actions. Now we have a precious opportunity to ‘clean house’ by purifying this negative karma.

Gen Suma will explain the Buddhist perspective on death and dying, and review practical ways to help those who are approaching death. She will also teach powerful prayers to assist individuals as they move through the process of dying.
